V For Vendetta Today

I must admit that the day I viewed the trailer of “V For Vendetta” at the theater I wasn’t any near be willing to pay a ticket for viewing that man with a funny mask on his face. It appeared to me it would be one more of those easy films drawn out from a not extremely understood “comic” (a minimum of for me) that are appearing in theaters quite often these days. Now that I enjoyed it, I believe I was evaluating this movie wrong and not being completely fair with the author and director.

It was rather surprising to follow the story and its continuous similarity to what is taking place today in a not too far away country and not too unusual areas. In the film is England that has been taken control of by a group of enthusiasts that have concluded that their reason to live is power and the imposition of his world model and ideas over everybody and all over. There is a constant war outside the borders and inside democracy is over; meanwhile worry is alive. People has lost the power of questioning truth and take conscience of the terrible effects of living under such a decadent routine. It is a model based not in reason not in justice. Is the model “fascists” preach, where obedience and a “clock-like” performance of the society in the interest of a couple of “chosen ones” is required.

However all of a sudden there is an issue menacing the “status-quo”, they (without knowing) have produced their own finisher. It is a figure that appears to us as a mix of revenge with an advanced mind, its name is “V”. The motion picture makes it closer to an easy vengeance thirst of this character, which is a bad point for the author, however anyhow; the film put us in front of tyranny being challenged by a single questioner, a single doubt of what has been happening to that society and his menace to increase those doubts once the right time has actually come, this is … The 5th of November.

There is likewise the human side of “V”, he fulfills the lady in the motion picture thanks to his opportune proving while she is about to be raped by a group of secret agents of the “fascist” program that have catch her walking at the wrong hours. You are not even the owner of your time as long as the preachers of “England Prevails” are in power. She leaves safe thanks to “V” but only to be started into the world of those who will alter that world. She will be the visitor and prisoner of “V” up until she finally discovers that there is nothing to fear but fear itself.

At the end there appears to be a split of the vengeance cravings of “V” and the advanced intents that have actually been growing as the story establishes. It becomes rather clear that whatever originating from the old regime should pass away, consisting of “V”, but he has actually left a last gift and possibly a lesson for those who wish to discover it. Passions come from people and can be extremely effective forces; but revolutions cannot be made by a couple of people, transformations are made by the conscience and willing of individuals.
